  1. Do you accommodate children?
Children over the age of 11 are welcome at Victoria Lodge. However, the layout of Victoria Lodge and its gardens is such that it is unsuitable for accommodating young children.
  2. Do you have facilities for the disabled?
It is our aim to provide an equal welcome for all our guests, disabled and able bodied. We do not wish anyone to book a holiday that is unlikely to suit and we will offer our best advice to all prospective guests.

The geography of Lynton and the nature of our building, a Victorian house (not a purpose built hotel), does offer certain limitations and this may be important to you. Please ask us before booking if you are at all doubtful or have any particular needs that you would like us to know about, i.e. dietary or disability requirements.

Our car park is at the rear and access to the house is via steep steps. There is street parking in front of the house (no restrictions for those holding a blue badge) and access to the entrance is via a shallow slope with one 19cm step into the entrance hall.

    Assistance with luggage is available.

All 9 en-suite bedrooms are on the 1st floor via 17 shallow steps (18cm) or on the 2nd floor, with one good handrail on the banisters. There is no lift.

Our bedrooms and en-suites range in size, but all have the same level of outstanding decoration. Each room is provided as standard with hair-drier, clock radios, television and tea/coffee making facilities. Each shower has a minimum 21cm raised ledge.

Each room has a smoke detector and an audible fire alarm can be heard via the main alarms. We as owners are responsible to ensure that all guests are evacuated in an emergency requiring evacuation. If any guest requires any additional support in the case of fire or another emergency we will arrange this with you. Emergency lighting is fitted.

Two lounges and the dining room are on the ground floor which is totally level, & these lounges are there to be enjoyed at anytime of the day or evening. Full waitress service is available at breakfast. We can store any medication that needs to be refrigerated.
  3. Are walkers and cyclists welcome?
Walkers and cyclists are very welcome, cycles can be left in outhouse in back garden.
  4. What time is breakfast?
Breakfast is served between 8.30am and 9.30am.
  5. Can I get a packed lunch?
With 24 hours' notice and a small fee, a packed lunch can be made up for you to take away.
  6. Can I smoke in the house?
For the enjoyment of all guests, Victoria Lodge is a completely non-smoking house.
  7. Can I get anti-allergy bed linen?
Hollow fibre pillows and duvets can be provided.
  8. Do you provide evening meals?
Only breakfast, and upon request (see above) a packed lunch, is provided at Victoria Lodge. However the villages of Lynton and Lynmouth are well served by restaurants, bistros and pubs serving food in the evening. Menus from many of the surrounding eateries are kept at Victoria Lodge, and we are happy to make advanced bookings for you.
  9. Do you allow dogs?
For the comfort of all our guests, we do not accept pets at Victoria Lodge.

Do you close during the winter?
We close on 31 st October, and open at the end of March.
  10. How late can we arrive?
Check in is from 3.00pm, it would be appreciated if you would let us know if you are going to arrive after 6.00pm. The latest check in is 10.00pm.
  11. Do you have car parking?
There are five car parking spaces at the rear of the building, although cars are parked at owners' risk. The main Lynton car park is five minutes' walk.
  12. What if I have to cancel my booking?
To avoid any misunderstanding we would remind you that a verbal or written reservation constitutes a legal contract. In the event of a cancellation, both parties should endeavour to re-let the accommodation. Should neither party succeed, then the person making the reservation is legally liable to pay two thirds of the total value of the booking. In order to avoid this unhappy prospect, we advise you to consider holiday insurance.

A non returnable deposit of 25% of the total cost is required on booking, cheques should be made payable to Victoria Lodge. If no deposit is received within 7 days of making the booking we will cancel the reservation.
  13. Is there a dress code?
We aim to provide a happy and relaxed atmosphere, as such there is no strict dress code - we only ask that you are considerate of other guests and do not cause embarrassment.
